Lucid Design
Regardless of how revolutionary your invention is, you will never see a dime if you aren't able to communicate its value to a potential licensee. In order to assume the cost of brining your product to market (often many hundreds of thousands of dollars), your licensee must be convinced that their potential for return outweighs their risk.

Accordingly, it is essential that you and/or your licensing agent has a thorough understanding of your invention's intended marketplace. Discount and markup structures, price points, industry trends -- you must understand the entire landscape of your target market in order to position your product intelligently and demonstrate its value. Because each market and product is unique, this research must be preformed on a case-by-case basis.

Finally, the art of negotiation and structuring deals is an art in-and-of itself. The process of negotiation requires a clear understanding of mutual needs, industry standards, clear communication, creative problem-solving, a collaborative focus and -- quite frankly -- knowing what you can get away with. Each element of the negotiation forms the structure of the license itself -- FOB rates, defining mutual responsibilities in the case of infringement, product liability insurance, indemnifications -- these factors alone could cost you hundreds of thousands of dollars if not addressed correctly at the outset.

As your licensing agent I will thoroughly investigate your intended market in order to intelligently position your product, identify potential licensees, develop presentation materials, help define your IP strategy, and most importantly, negotiate a lucrative deal on your behalf.
